Our History
In October of 2011, we took our first step into health and wellness as Project Wellness 360° a.k.a PW360. Our love of healthy eating and lifestyle changes became the bedrock of what we do. As of June 2020, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and available online in all 50 US states and territories, we are Beyond The Barr – focused on helping everyone reduce weight, restore their health, and rejuvenate the body.
Picture it! It’s a cool and breezy Saturday afternoon in December of 2008.
Alex, a Claflin University Gear-Up Tutor, attended a health session with his students at the university’s gymnasium. Unbeknownst to him, divine timing would have him connect with the Nutritionist Guest Lecturer, Dr. Joyce, from Atlanta, GA. Her bubbly personality was irresistible, and her passion was unmatched. In a gymnasium bursting with 200+ people, Alex raises his hand to affirm and respond to Dr. Joyce’s lecture on Blood Type Eating. Her face radiated in awe and approval. It was then, after the session, that Alex would partner with her to begin the journey to improve his health.
Until this point, Alex suffered from many ailments normalized in his community. From cold hands and feet to recurring sinus infections, Alex assumed that over-the-counter medication was the correct remedy. After missing a college exam because of a debilitating sinus infection, his professor, Dr. Daniel Hembree, urged him to investigate his health, change his diet, eliminate certain foods, and not miss class again.
Two decades of lousy eating and nutrition could not be reversed in a month. But Alex was determined not only to rid himself of recurring sinus infections but also eczema, heartburn, and poor vision. He became a student of health and wellness. Alex taught himself how to embrace authentic cellular nutrition with world-class nutritional supplements. Within six weeks, Alex had a new body that was rejuvenated, recharged, and rehabilitated.
Alex developed a lifestyle brand.
Recognizing the power of his transformation, Alex consciously tried to educate others on the knowledge and benefits of healthy eating. To share this mission with the world, he partnered with like-minded practitioners to create a platform focused on health and wellness.

By championing others to eat according to their blood type combined with highly tested and vetted specialized nutritional supplements, Alex developed a lifestyle brand.
Formed in Kingstree, South Carolina, in October 2011, the business grew and made significant strides. With a presence in over six states, Project Wellness 360° expanded a regional brand and established South Carolina’s first team of over 200 partners. The organization collectively achieved over one quarter million dollars in annual sales, executed and facilitated 350 home workshops and ten university lectures, and actively created monthly goals and modules for health awareness. More importantly, Project Wellness 360° improved the health markers of over 125 of its clients. Recognizing its mission, value, and statewide reach in June 2020, it would later undergo a rebranding that would elevate its services and provide a more full, holistic care experience for all health seekers.
Repositioning its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, Project Wellness 360°changed its name to Beyond the Barr, LLC. As the number one health advocate and trusted partner in health, Beyond the Barr, a holistic lifestyle consulting brand, exists to redefine what is naturally possible.
